Cette usine fut mise en service en 1978 et a \u00e9t\u00e9 arr\u00eat\u00e9e en 1999. En 2005 elle fut d\u00e9class\u00e9e puis d\u00e9pollu\u00e9e.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Aujourd\u2019hui, port\u00e9e par sa volont\u00e9 de d\u00e9velopper un \u00abtourisme vert\u00bb et dans le cadre des actions environnementales qu\u2019elle m\u00e8ne, la ville de Cavalaire souhaite faire de ce site un lieu incontournable exclusivement consacr\u00e9 \u00e0 la nature, un relais et une r\u00e9f\u00e9rence pour tous les amoureux de la corniche des Maures ou pour ceux qui souhaitent la d\u00e9couvrir.<\/p>\n<p>Ainsi est n\u00e9 le souhait de cr\u00e9er une Maison de la Nature d\u00e9nomm\u00e9e \u201cl\u2019Usine\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Cette r\u00e9alisation a l\u2019avantage de s\u2019accorder avec l\u2019ouverture au public du domaine Foncin, propri\u00e9t\u00e9 du Conservatoire du Litorral. Il s\u2019agit d\u2019un domaine de 15 hectares avec sa b\u00e2tisse du 19\u00e8me, dans le site class\u00e9, au titre des sites et des paysages, de la corniche des Maures.<\/p>\n<p>Outre le fait que le site de l\u2019UTOM offre une porte d\u2019entr\u00e9e exclusive au domaine FONCIN, il a aussi l\u2019avantage d\u2019\u00eatre situ\u00e9 sur le trajet de la \u00abvoie verte\u00bb qui relie les Jardins du Rayol au domaine de Pardigon et peut ainsi offrir une \u00e9tape interm\u00e9diaire aux randonneurs, coureurs et cyclistes.<\/p>\n<p>Par sa proximit\u00e9 avec le centre-ville de Cavalaire il est possible de s\u2019y rendre \u00e0 pied en 30 minutes, car il est situ\u00e9 \u00e0 moins de 3 km du coeur de la ville.<\/p>\n<p>La vocation fondamentale de la maison de la nature est : d\u2019assurer un r\u00f4le p\u00e9dagogique, d\u2019\u00e9ducation et de sensibilisation au territoire, \u00e0 l\u2019environnement et \u00e0 la nature aupr\u00e8s de diff\u00e9rents publics, enfants, adultes, habitants, touristes, groupes scolaires, &#8230; tout en cr\u00e9ant du lien social.<br \/>\nAutrement dit, l\u2019objectif principal de la ville est de d\u00e9velopper avec la Maison de la Nature \u00abL\u2019Usine\u00bb un tourisme vert plus respectueux de l\u2019environnement.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"border-radius: 2px;
